Gold Cake
List of Ingredients
1-1/3 cups flour
1 cup butter, at room temperature
5 eggs, at room temperature
1-1/3 cups sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Recipe
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Place flour and butter in mixing bowl. With electric
mixer at low speed, mix 5 minutes or until mixture is like
meal. Add eggs one at a time on low speed, mixing thoroughly
after each addition. Sift together sugar, baking powder, and
salt. Add to butter mixture, along with almond extract; mix
well on low speed.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake 1 hour, until
a tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Turn out on
a rack to cool.
