    Perfect Pound Cake

    List of Ingredients




    3/4 lb. (3 sticks) butter (no substitutes) room temperature
    2 1/2 cups sugar
    5 large eggs (room temperature)
    3 cups flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 cup milk (room temperature)
    1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
    1 1/2 tablespoons almond extract

    In large bowl, beat butter, sugar and eggs (add one at a time) until
    smooth. Add flour, baking powder, milk, vanilla and almond extract
    and beat until smooth. Preheat oven to 325. Butter and flour
    (non-stick as well) a 10 inch tube, Bundt pan, two loaf pans or mini
    loaf pans. Pour batter into pan. Bake 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Check after
    45 minutes. (knife will be clean when inserted in middle.) Cool one
    hour in pan. Freezes extremely well.
