Almost 'Almond Roca'
List of Ingredients
1 sleeve saltine crackers
1 cup butter -- not margarine!
1 cup brown sugar
6 ounces chocolate chips
1 cup chopped almonds
Recipe
Preheat oven to 400 degrees farenheit. Line a 9 x 13 cookie sheet or jelly roll pan with aluminum foil.
Place the saltines in a single layer over the entire cookie sheet.
In a small saucepan, stir together butter and brown sugar. Bring mixture to a boil and allow to boil for 3 minutes -- no longer!
Remove butter and brown sugar from heat and stir in almonds.
Pour butter mixture over the saltines. Immediately place into oven and bake for approximately five minutes -- the saltines will seem to float.
Remove sheet from oven and evenly sprinkle chocolate chips on top .
Allow to cool, then break into pieces.
