    Pepper Steak For Two*

    3/4 lb Round Steak
    2 T Vegetable Oil
    1 lg Tomato; peeled and coarsely chopped (I use plum tomatoes)
    2 md Green Peppers; thinly sliced
    2 T Soy Sauce
    1/4 t Sugar
    1/4 t Garlic Powder
    1/4 t Pepper
    1/8 t Ground Ginger
    1 T Cornstarch
    1/2 C Beef Consomme
    Hot cooked Rice

    Recipe

    Partially freeze steak; slice across grain into 2" x 1/4" strips.
    Cook steak in oil in a large skillet until brown. Stir in
    green pepper, soy sauce, sugar, garlic powder, pepper, and ginger; cover and simmer 15 minutes.
    Combine cornstarch and consomme'; stir into steak mixture. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in Tomatoes and heat for another minute. Serve over rice.
    Yield: 2 servings.
    This is a DELICIOUS, fairly quick, tried and true recipe.
