Sausage Surprise
List of Ingredients
2 # Smoked Sausage, cut in 3/4-inch slices
1 large Onion, cut into eighths
1 med. Cabbage, cut into small chunks
1/2 C Water
1 # Carrots, cut into 1/2-inch slices
5 med. Potatoes, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
Recipe
Brown sausage in a Dutch oven; remove and drain on paper towels. Drain off
drippings, reserving 1 tablespoon in Dutch oven.
Saute onion in reserved drippings 3 to 5 minutes; add sausage, cabbage, and
water. Cover and cook over low heat 10 minutes. Stir in carrots and
potatoes; cover and cook an additional 20 minutes or until the vegetables
are tender.
Yield: 8 servings.
(Recipe can be cut in half.)
