    Harper's Chili*

    List of Ingredients


    1 lb ground Turkey (or Beef)
    1 C Chopped Celery
    2 cloves Minced Garlic
    1 medium Chopped Onion
    1 (16 oz) can Pinto (or Kidney Beans)
    1 (16 oz) can Diced Tomatoes
    1/2 minced jalepeno pepper (add more if desired)
    1 recipe of Chili Seasoning Mix (see Mixes in index)

    Recipe

    Brown ground Turkey (or Beef), Celery, Garlic and Onion, in a medium saucepan, over medium-high heat; drain, if necessary. Add 1 (16 oz) can Pinto (or Kidney Beans), 1 (16 oz) can Diced Tomatoes, 1/2 minced jalepeno pepper (add more if desired) and 1 pkg ofChili Seasoning Mix. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
    I brown the turkey in a small amount of bacon fat or I sometimes add 1-2 strips snipped bacon to the raw turkey. I almost always serve this with cooked elbow macaroni to make 'Chili Mac'.
    I top each bowlful with grated Cheddar. Also, great served with a pan of piping hot cornbread or in cornbread cups (listed in my index under Misc.).
    A bowl of this will surely warm anyones bones.
