Dutch Honey
List of Ingredients
1 C White Sugar
1 C Dark Corn Syrup (such as Karo)
1 C Heavy Sweet Cream or Sour Cream
1/2 t Pure Vanilla ExtractRecipe
Place first three ingredients in a large heavy saucepan. Stir constantly while bringing to a rolling boil. Allow to boil 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from pan and allow to cool 15-30 minutes. Add Vanilla, stirring well. This renders the consistency of liquid honey that may separate but pours easily,
If you prefer a spun honey consistency, after adding Vanilla, place pan in larger container of ice water and beat with electric mixer until cold and light in color.
Store in refrigerator.
Serve on Cornbread, Biscuits, Dinner Rolls, Toast, Pancakes, Waffles or French Toast...or, the one you love :-)
