    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup soft shortening
    • 1 1/2 cups sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 3/4 cups sifted flour
    • 2 teaspoons cream of tarter
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • ...............................
    • TOPPING:
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 2 teaspoons cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly.

    2. Sift together flour, cream of tarter, baking soda, and salt. Stir into shortening, sugar, and egg mixture.

    3. Chill dough.

    4. Roll dough onto balls the size of walnuts.

    5. Roll dough balls into topping mixture.

    6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place about 2 inches apart on LIGHTLY greased baking sheet.

    7. Bake until lightly browned, but still soft (these cookies puff up at first, then flatten out with a crinkled top).

    8. Baking time 8-10 minutes

    9. Makes about 6 dozen 2 inch cookies.
