    Good Habit Tuna Melt

    Source of Recipe

    Richard Simmons

    Recipe Introduction

A Tuna Melt is usually loaded with calories. The toast is buttered, it is cooked on a greasy grill and the amount of mayonnaise is bound to be more then a tablespoon. This Tuna Melt has all the flavor without the hidden fat.
    Makes 1 serving.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup drained, flaked, water-packed tuna
    • 1 tablespoon each diced celery and red onion
    • 1 tablespoon diet mayonnaise
    • 3/4 teaspoon prepared mustard
    • Dash oregano
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 slice whole grain bread
    • 1 ounce sliced low-fat mozzarella cheese

    Instructions

    1. Preheat broiler.
    2. In small bowl combine tuna, celery, red onion, mayonnaise and mustard.
    3. Add seasonings. Mix well.
    4. Toast bread and spread with tuna mixture. Top with cheese. (If desired, cut into narrow slices and weave as shown in photo.)
    5. Broil until tuna is hot and cheese has melted.
