    Flour Tortillas

    Source of Recipe

    I made this up myself.

    List of Ingredients

    • 4 cups of all purpose flour
    • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 1/2 cups warm water
    • 1 1/2 tsp salt or No Salt salt
    • 4 TBLS shortening (Crisco) or lard

    Instructions

    1. Put all of the dry ingerdients in a bowl.

    2. Cut in the shortening adding a small amount of water at a time to make the dough.

    3. Knead the dough until it is elastic and has no lumps.

    4. Set this aside with a cover for about 10-15 minutes. Depending on how hungry you are. :-)

    5. Then take some dough and roll into a ball with your palms. The larger the ball, the larger the tortilla will be.

    6. On a floured surface, roll out your tortilla to the size you want. About 1/8" is great!

    7. Heat your ungreased skillet on medium high and cook until the tortilla is speckled, about 2-3 minutes for each one.

    8. Serve right away, or freeze for later in freezer plastic bags.

    9. *HINT* Use wax paper between frozen tortillas.

    10. FROZEN: You can reheat just like regular. Skillet or microwave to heat up, approx. 1 minute for about 6 tortillas.

    Final Comments

You can put peanut butter and all kinds of good stuff in a tortilla.
