    1 cup butter
    1/2 cup molasses
    dash of salt
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 tsp soda dissolved in 3 Tbsp hot water

    This is a rolled out cookie. Add just enough flour to form a soft dough. Roll thin and cut out with a round cookie cutter. bake. put together with jam while still warm
