    Crispy, crunchy, dunkin' cookies..... YUM!!!

    List of Ingredients




    1/3 cup butter
    3/4 cup white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/4 tsp almond extract
    2 tsp orange zest (optional)
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/2 c toasted almond pieces

    Recipe



    Preheat the oven to 325°
    Grease and flour a large baking sheet.

    In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light &
    fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, almond extract, and zest.
    Combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt. Stir into the creamed mixture until just blended. Mix in almonds.

    Divide dough into two pieces.
    Form into long flat loaves about 1/2" high and 12" long. Place the loaves about 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
    Bake for 25 minutes until light golden brown. Cool on a wire rack about 5 minutes.
    With a serrated knife, cut diagonally into slices about
    1/2-3/4" thick. Lay the slices cut side on the baking sheet.
    Bake for 10 minutes, turn over once and bake until crispy. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

    Store biscotti at room temperature in an airtight container.

    **Note: I sometimes add a chocolate icing to the biscotti for a special touch.
