Sweet & Spicy Snack Mix

List of Ingredients

1 package (6 oz) Bugles corn snacks (the regular flavor)
2 cups mixed nuts
2 Tbsp orange juice or water (I use orange juice)
2 egg whites
1-1/3 cup white sugar
1 to 2 Tbsp grated orange peel
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground ginger


Recipe

Heat oven to 275 degrees F.
Grease a shallow pan.
Mix Bugles and nuts in large bowl.
Beat orange juice and egg whites in small bowl with whisk until foamy.
Mix in remaining ingredients.
Stir into corn snack mixture until well coated.
Spread out in pan.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes (until light brown and crisp) stirring about every 15 minutes.
Cool.
Store in airtight containers.

Makes about 10 cups of snack mix. Easily doubled.

Place in jars or even nice cellophane bags and decorate for gifts.
