This has been a family favorite for years.
Makes 8 pints.
List of Ingredients
4 c. ground onions
1 med. head cabbage
10 green tomatoes
12 green bell peppers
6 sweet red peppers
1/2 c. salt
1 tbls. celery seed
1 tbls. mustard seed
1 ½ t turmeric
6 c. sugar
4 c. cider vinegar
2 c. water
Grind vegetables.
Add salt and allow to stand overnight.
Allow to stand overnight; Rinse and drain
Combine remaining ingredients and pour over vegetable mixture.
Heat to boiling; simmer 3 minutes.
Seal in hot sterilized jars.
Process in hot water bath as needed for your altitude.
