Coconut Pecan Frosting
I use this frosting to make my version of German Chocolate cake. Use a Dark/Double Chocolate cake mix, baking as directed. Frost the sides with Dark/Fudge Frosting and the top with the Coconut Pecan Frosting.
This is really chocolatey and rich. Men Love It!
List of Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups flaked coconut (I usually use the whole 14z package)
- 1 cup chopped pecans or almonds
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter and eggs.
- Cook over medium heat until mixture starts to bubble, stirring constantly.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Cool until of spreading consistency.
- Frosts 3-layer or 13 X 9-inch cake.
