List of Ingredients 2 1/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup butter 2/3 cup sugar 1/2 cup chocolate flavored syrup 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 cup milk shelled peanut halves Instructions Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Mix together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir syrup into butter mixture, then add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla, then mix in dry ingredients alternating with the milk. Chill in refrigerator for 1 hour. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet and insert 4 peanut halves about half way into the fattest side of each to resemble claws. Bake in a 375 degree F. oven until edges of cookies are set and centers spring back when touched lightly, approx. 10-12 minutes. Makes 3 dozen Final Comments These are great for Cub Scout meetings. Serve them to a group of kindergartners while you hold them spellbound reading Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
