Deep Fried Perogies (sp??) – Aunt Anne
Source of Recipe
Choochie Ann
Recipe Introduction
Make you potato mixture that you would use for boiling perogies. My mom boils the potato’s, mashed with a hand potato masher and adds sautéed onion & butter and yellow or white cheese for flavoring. Your mom probably knows how to do these
List of Ingredients
Dough
1 cup Bisquick Flour
1 cup sifted flour
1 or 2 eggs
2 tbs sugar
1 tsp baking powder
Recipe
Combine above ingredients together. Add warm water to mixture a little at a time; mix the dough the same as you were going to prepare regular boiled perogies.
Let dough mixture stand for about 15 minutes. Either roll dough out (which might be a bit too hard to do) or pinch off a piece of the dough and spread this with your fingers (don’t make these too thin).
As you are making them, lay them on a clean towel and then cover with a clean towel. After you are finished making the do the following:
Deep fry perogies in oil until golden brown (which does not take long). Drain on paper towels or in a colander.
Serve with fried onions & butter mixture; sour cream or whatever you like
