    Smoked Salmon (Nova) Tartar

This is great appetizer for St. Patrick’s day, made with Irish Salmon. that is the way I ate it the very first time.

    1/2 pound Lox, minced
1/3 cup chives or green onion tops, snipped
    3 tablespoons capers, drained
    1/2 teaspoon grated lemon rind
    5 teaspoons lemon juice
    4 teaspoons olive oil
    1 teaspoon Asian sesame oil
Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Mix the lox, onion tops and capers.
Whisk together, lemon juice, and the oils, mix with the salmon mixture.

Serve on Pumpernickel toasts, topped with a slice of cucumber, topped with the tartar

This can be served as a spread, however , for me, it seems to work better as a canape. While any smoked salmon can be used, I prefer the Nova as it is less salty.
