Cottage Cheese Kuchen
My grandmother made a Cottage Ccheese Kuchen that was out of this world. As children, we would raid her pantry looking for it. This is not her recipe, but comes close to what I remember. She also made her own cottage cheese.
List of Ingredients
- Preheat oven to 350 F
- Crust:
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Filling:
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Instructions
- Crust:
- Cut in butter as for pie crust
- Add the egg and milk.
- Mix and press into bottom and part way up the sides of an 8 inch square pan.
- Filling:
- Mix all together and pour into crust.
- Bake 45 minutes at 350 F
