    Nobby Apple Cake

    3 tablespoons butter
    1 cup sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1 cup flour
    3 cups diced apples
    1/4 cup chopped nuts

    Preheat oven to 350 F
    Grease 8x8x2 pan
    Cream the butter and sugar, add egg and beat well, add vanilla
    Sift dry ingredients, and add to creamed. Stir in apples and nuts.
    Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
