Ginger Snaps
Recipe Introduction
These are every bit as good as the rolled. Just a lot easier and faster to make
List of Ingredients
- 1 cup vegetable shortening (I use Crisco butter flavor)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup dark molasses
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
- 2 cups flour
- additional sugar for rolling cookies
Instructions
- Cream shortening and sugar,add molasses, and mix well
- In a separate bowl, place baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and flour,
mix thoroughly with a whisk, or sift. Add to sugar mixture, and mixed just until combined.
- preheat oven to 350 F
- Form into 1 inch balls, roll in sugar, place balls 11/2 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake about 12 minute,or until lightly brown around the edges
- Let cool on cookie sheet.
