Recipe Categories:

    No Fail Pie Crust

    3cup flour
    1 teaspoon salt
    2/3 cup firm butter flavored vegetable shortening OR:
    1/3 cup each cold unsalted butter and shortening
    1/3 cup ice water
    1 egg yolk
    1 tablespoon cider vinegar

    Cut shortening into flour until consistency of small peas
    Add water, yolk and vinegar
    Pat into round, wrap in clear wrap
    Chill at least one hour.
    Roll out on lightly floured board or pastry cloth to 1/8 inch thick.

    Makes 3 shells or 1 large double crust
