List of Ingredients
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 cup buckwheat groats (Kasha)
- 2 tablespoon schmaltz, or butter
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups bowknot pasta, cooked
Instructions
- Mix lightly beaten egg with groats, let stand several minutes to dry.
- Add boiling water and schmaltz.
- Cover tightly and cook until kasha is tender about 15 minutes.
- Stir occasionally and add more water to keep mixture from sticking
- Mix kasha with cooked bowknots
- Serve piping hot
