    Hush Puppies

    1 egg
    1 cup milk
    1 1/4 cup cornmeal
    5 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    1 finely chopped onion

    Beat egg. Add milk and wait 5 minutes. Add other ingredients. Stir well. Drop by teaspoonfuls into hot fat.
