Mix and let stand until lukewarm. Dissolve one yeastcake in a little likewarm water and add to milk. Add one well beaten egg. Mix all together and add sifted flour gradually (4 1/2 to 5 cups). Do not have dough too stiff - just enough to handle easily. Cover the bowl with a towel and set in a warm place. When dough has risen to twice its roiginal bulk, take out on floured board and knead, very lightly. Shape in rolls. Let rise again.
