1/4 cup butter -- softened
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
1 cup mashed bananas
1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9"x13" pan. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla and blend thoroughly. Sift together flour , baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Stir in bananas and pecans. Spread batter evenly over bottom of pan and bake 40 to 45 minutes. Cool and frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1/4 c. melted butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (16 oz.) box powdered sugar. Combine all ingredients and blend well.
Combine topping ingredients and mix until crumbly, set aside. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add lemon juice, vanilla and eggs; mix well. Stir dry ingredients together, add alternately with milk to the creamed mixture.
Add bananas (and chopped nuts, if desired) and mix well. Spread in greased (or sprayed) 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until done. Cool on wire rack, cut into squares.
