2 pounds extra lean ground beef
1 large onion -- chopped
1 clove garlic -- minced
6 bay leaves (remove after cooking)
Salt and pepper
1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
2 (12 oz.) cans of water
2 cups cottage cheese
1/2 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
1 pound grated mozzarella cheese

Cook above ingredients together slowly, at least one hour (about #3 on electric range). Twenty minutes before meat is done, cook twelve lasagne noodles as directed on package. Rinse in cold water, keep in water until ready to use.
In glass dish (16 x 11 x 2) place six noodles. On top of noodles put half of sauce, 1 cup cottage cheese, 1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese and 1/2 pound grated mozzarella cheese. Start with noodles and repeat. Cover with foil, place on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
Let rest at least 20 minutes before serving. Serves 12.
