hoppin' John rice and black-eyed peas

2 cups water
1 tbsp. pareve margarine
1 tsp. salt
pinch cayenne pepper
dash Tabasco sauce
1 16-ounce can black-eyed peas, drained and rinsed
pinch black pepper
Recipe
In a large saucepan, bring the water, margarine, salt, peppers and Tabasco sauce to a boil. Add the rice, reduce the heat to low, and cover. Simmer for about 20 minutes, until the rice is tender. Add the black-eyed peas and mix well. Heat for about 3 minutes more.
