    CHINESE BARBECUED PORK (Cha Siew)

    Source of Recipe

    Bob's file

    Recipe Introduction

Chinese barbecued pork is great to have on hand to add to a snack tray. Also good addition to rice, won tons, or vegetables. We usually double the recipe and freeze portions for later use.

    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup soy sauce
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    2 tsp. catsup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. MSG (optional)
1 pound pork tenderloin, cut into two strips

    Recipe

In bowl, mix first six ingredients; add the pork and marinade for at least 3 hours, turning frequently. Drain pork and place on oven rack; roast at 350º for 40 minutes, turning every 10 minutes to assure even brownness.
For an appetizer: slice in 1/4" slices, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds. Hot mustard and soy sauce dip optional.
