    Bob learned to make many wonderful Chinese dishes when he took a cooking class at Woo Che Chongs in San Diego, CA. I will add more later.

    List of Ingredients




    ½ cup butter
    1 ½ pounds beef, chicken or pork
    2 cups onion, sliced thin
    2 tsp. salt
    ¼ tsp. Pepper
    2 cups celery, chopped
    2 cups hot water
    1 can bean sprouts, drained
    1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
    ¼ tsp. Chinese 5-spice powder (optional)
    ¼ cornstarch mixed in 2/3 cup cold water
    4 tsps soy sauce, or more to taste
    2 tsp. Sugar

    Melt butter in large skillet or wok. Add the meat and stir
    to sear; add onions and cook until tender; add celery, salt,pepper, and hot water, cover and cook for about 5 minutes.Add bean sprouts, water chestnuts, mushrooms and the Chinese 5-spice powder, mix well and heat thoroughly. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and sugar, cook for 5 minutes. Serve with chow mein noodles.
