1 can English peas, crained
1 can asparagus, drained
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can sliced water chestnuts
1 cube butter or margarine, melted
3 slices bread, each cut in three strips
1 1/2 cups chedar cheese, grated

Prehead oven to 350º.
Layer first four ingredients in a greased casserole dish. Dip each strip of bread in melted butter and place on top, then cover with cheese. Bake for about 30 minutes, or, until thoroughly heated and the cheese is melted.
