    Glazed lemon loaf

    Recipe Introduction

    Delicious Buttered and served with coffee Poke holes in loaf with a fork to better absorb the glaze

    List of Ingredients

    6 tbsp margarene or shortening
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs well beaten
    zest of one lemon grated
    1/2 cup milk
    1 1/2 cup flour
    1 1/2 tsp baking powder

    Recipe

    Oven 350
    Line loaf pan with wax paper or parchment paper
    Stir flour and baking powder together
    Cream shortening and sugar together add eggs and milk add dry ingredients and lemon rind. Pour batter into loaf pan
    Bake 1 hour
    While still warm apply glaze

    Glaze
    1/2 cup sugar
    juice of one lemon
    Mix together and spread over warm cake until it is all absorbed.
