My Grama and Mom made this recipe every year, our family loved it. Try it on roast beef or chicken.
List of Ingredients
30 tomatoes or about 24 cups
8 onions chopped
12 sticks celery chopped
1 green pepper chopped
1 red pepper chopped
1/2 cup pickling salt
5 cups sugar
2 tbsp mustard seed
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp whole cloves
2 cups vinigar
Peel tomatoes, mix with onion, celery, peppers. Stir in salt and let stand overnight.Drain well the next morning.
Stir mixture with sugar,seasoning, vinigar, bring to a boil. Turn stove down so the mixture simmers (gently boils) for 1 hour. Stirring once in a while.
Ladel into hot, sterile jars. Leave 1/8 " space. Seal.
