    Pound cake

    List of Ingredients


    • 4 sticks butter
    • 2 1/2 cup sugar
    • 8 eggs
    • 2 T. vanilla flavoring
    • 1 t. lemon flavoring
    • 4 cups plain flour
    • 2 t. baking powder
    • Dash of salt


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven at 325º. Grease and flour large tube or bunt cake pan.Beat butter and sugar one minute with mixer blending well with spatula.


    2. Add eggs, vanilla, lemon and beat 2 1/2 minutes. Sift flour, baking powder and salt 3 times and blend.


    3. Pour into cake pan and bake for 1 hour. Insert toothpick and if it comes out clean, cake is done.

    4. Remove from oven to cool. If desired, add frosting.
