    Bread Pudding

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 qts. milk
    • 5 cups bread cubes or small pieces
    • 1 T. margarin
    • 1 or 2 eggs
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/2 t. salt
    • 1 T. vanilla flavoring
    • 1/2 cup raisins, if desired


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350º. Heat milk until hot but not boiling.

    2. Add bread and margarine.

    3. Beat eggs and add sugar and salt.

    4. Add milk mixture and vanilla flavoring.

    5. Pour into baking dish and sprinkle with nutmeg, cinnamon and sugar.

    6. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until knife inserted comes out clean. Let cool. If desired, pour Confectioners Sugar Glaze over top.

    7. Confectioners Sugar Glaze:

    8. 1 cup confectioners sugar

    9. 2 or 3 T. milk

    10. 1/2 t. vanilla flavoring

    11. Stir confectioners sugar, milk, and vanilla until blended and pore over pudding.
