    Oil Pastry Pie Crust

    List of Ingredients


    • 1-1/2 cups of plain flour sifted
    • 3/4 t. salt
    • 3/8 cup crisco oil (or 6 T).
    • 3 or 4 T. ice water


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 450º. Mix and sift flour and salt.

    2. Pour oil and water into measuring cup, but do not mix. Add all at once to flour mixture. Stir lightly and shape into a ball.

    3. Sprinkle counter top with a little water to keep waxed paper from sliding. Place oblong sheet of waxed paper on counter. Place pie crust on top and flatten with hand. Place another sheet of waxed paper on top of crust. Roll out to a large circle with rolling pen.

    4. Peal top sheet of paper off and quickly flip pie crust over into large 10" pyrex pie pan. Remove paper and roll edges of crust evenly on edge of pie pan.

    5. Bake at 450º 10-12 minutes, until golden brown.
