Bean Soup

Recipe Introduction
You can use your favorite dried beans or mixed beans for this soup. Serve with cornbread or crackers.
List of Ingredients
- 1 8 0z. pkg. northern beans
- Ham, ham bone, smoked pork or smoked turkey bones to season
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Soak beans over night with 1/2 t. baking soda. Pour water off and rinse beans in collander.
- Place in crock pot with smoked bones or ham for seasoning. Add water to about 2 inches above beans; add salt and pepper.
- Cook on high for about 5 hours or cook on low for about 8 hours. If needed, add more salt and pepper or water. Stir occasionally.
