List of Ingredients
- Stew beef with vegetables cut up and gravey
- 1 bag of frozen vegetable gumbo mix
- 1 can of black beans or corn
- Any left over vegetables that you have
- 1/2 cup macaronni or spaghetti, broken
- 1/4 cup rice
- Salt to taste
- Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
Instructions
- Skim fat from gravey first and place gravey in large, covered pot or roaster.
- Add all of the vegetables
- Add enough water to fill pot 2/3's full
- Add macaronni and rice
- Add seasonings and stir.
- Bring pot to a boil and turn burner down to low and Simmer and stir occasionally, for about one hour, or until meat is tender. Serve with garlic bread, crackers or cornbread.
Final Comments
This recipe can also be cooked in the crock pot. If you have a busy day ahead, in the morning, place all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low. It will be ready for supper when you get home.
