Pasta w/ Basil Cream Sauce

- 6 oz dried bow tie or mostaccioli pasta
- 1 - 12 oz can evaporated fat-free milk
- 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp snipped fresh basil or 1 tsp dried basil, crushed
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 2 ounces prosciutto, chopped
- 1/4 cup finely shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Return pasta to saucepan; cover and keep warm.
- Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan stir together the evaporated milk and flour. Add basil and garlic. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 1 minute more.
- Add peas, prosciutto, and the 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese to milk mixture; stir until cheese is melted. Do not boil. Pour over cooked pasta; toss gently to coat.
