    List of Ingredients

    Hamburger Helper Seasoning Mix

“Most people don’t realize that Hamburger Helper has actually been around for well over 30 years. The product is so popular because of its simple convenience and great taste. A box of Hamburger Helper contains mostly uncooked macaroni noodles, and a packet of seasoning. This recipe will show you how to make the seasoning - it’s very simple.”

    1 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

    1 tablespoon garlic powder

    2 tablespoons dried parsley

    1/3 cup instant onion

    3 tablespoons onion powder

    1 tablespoon salt

1 2/3 cup nonfat dry milk powder

3 1/2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules

    1. To make the Hamburger Helper Seasoning, combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir to combine well. Then transfer to any sir-tight container and close tightly. Yield: 5 1/2 cups.

    2. At this point you can store the seasoning until needed, and use it as you would any regular store-bought Hamburger Helper by adding uncooked macaroni. Or, try any one of the variations below.

    Cheeseburger Casserole:

Brown one pound of hamburger in a large saucepan, and drain off the fat. Add 1 cup of water, 1 cup uncooked macaroni, one 16-oz. can of chopped tomatoes, and 1/2 cup seasoning mix. Simmer everything, covered, for 20 minutes or until macaroni is tender. Remove from heat, and add 1/2 cup grated cheese.

    Chili Tomato Macaroni:

Brown one pound hamburger in a large saucepan, and drain off the fat. Add one cup water, one cup uncooked macaroni, one 16-ounce can chopped tomatoes, one tablespoon chili powder and 1/2 cup seasoning mix. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes or until the macaroni is tender.

    Potato Casserole:

Brown one pound hamburger in a large saucepan, and drain off the fat. Add 3/4 cup water, 6 peeled and thinly sliced potatoes, and 2/3 cup of the seasoning mix. Simmer covered 20-30 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Stir. Uncover and cook until the excess water is evaporated.
