This pound cake is so moist and delicious! My mother gave me the recipe, and I had to share. My husband is not a big fan of desserts, but he just loves this cake. Great for the holidays and for gift giving, as well. Kept in a sealed container, it improves daily.
List of Ingredients
1/2 lb butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups chopped walnuts
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 (6-8 ounces) jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped Recipe
1 Cream the butter and sugar together.
2 Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each one.
3 Add sour cream, vanilla, and remaining ingredients.
4 Mix just until moist.
5 Pour into a greased 10" round pan.
6 Bake at 350° for one hour.
Yield: 12 servings
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour
