Mississippi Mud Bars
List of Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1 cup walnuts
- 3 cups miniature marshmallows
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 4 cups icing sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
Instructions
- Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Sift flour and cocoa together, beat in gradually. Stir in walnuts. Spoon batter into a greased 9 X 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Immediately sprinkle top of cake evenly with marshmallows. Return to oven for 3 to 5 minutes until marshmallows are slightly puffed. Cool 30 minutes.
- Icing: Cream margarine. Beat in combined sugar and cocoa, alternately with milk. Beat until icing is light and fluffy, fold in nuts. Spread over marshmallow layer. Chill, cut into bars.
