    Bacon-Onion Turnovers

    List of Ingredients




    8 slices bacon, crumbled
    2 medium onions, finely chopped
    1 pkg. pie crust mix
    1 egg, beaten

    Recipe



    Fry bacon with onion until onions are golden; pour off fat.

    Make up pie crust; roll out into an 1/8" thickness. With a 4" round cookie cutter with scalloped edges, cut out 14 circles, rerolling dough as needed.

    On each pastry circle, place 2 tablespoons bacon-onion mixture; brush edges with egg; fold over and press to seal. Lightly brush tops with egg mixture. Arrange on a greased cookie sheet. (To freeze see note below)Bake in a 375º oven for 20-30 minutes or until golden.

    Freezing:
    Cool well on on wire rack before wrapping and freezing. To Serve frozen appetizers: Thaw in fridge at least 5 hours wrapped. Unwrap and place on prepared cookie sheet. Bake covered with foil in a 400º until crisp.
