    Vidalia Onion Wedges

    List of Ingredients

2 cups sliced vidalia sweet onion or other onion -- (about 1 large)
    2 tablespoons butter
    1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
    salt
    ground black pepper
    1 egg
    1/4 cup evaporated milk

    Recipe

Preheat oven to 400º. Saute onion in butter until
    golden brown and tender.

Separate rolls into triangles. Place in ungreased round
8-inch pan, overlapping as necessary and pressing together
to form an even crust on the bottom and halfway up the
    sides.

Spread onions over dough. Season generously with salt and
pepper. Beat egg slightly; stir in evaporated milk. Pour
egg mixture over onions. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until
crust is golden. Cut into wedges; serve hot or at room
    temperature.

    Yield: 4 side-dish or 8 appetizer servings.

Tester's note: To serve a crowd, double the ingredients,
then divide the toppings between 2 pastry-lined pans.

Recipe from the Vidalia Onion Committee.
