    12 tbsp. Crisco or Spry
    1 cup sugar
    3 eggs
    3 level tsp baking powder
    1 heaping tsp. vanilla
    1 heaping tsp. almond extract
    3 1/2 cups flour
    1 cup (1lb) chopped walnuts



    Recipe



    Pre-heat oven to 325º

    Blend Crisco with sugar then add eggs and blend again. Add baking powder, vanilla, almond extract, and blend. Add flour and nuts. Mix on medium speed until the dough is heavy. Take 1/3 of the dough and make 3 logs on a cookie pan, packing them lengthwise and thick. Make about 20 slices on each log, cutting at an angle halfway down the dough. Before placing in oven, sprinkle with combined sugar and cinammon.

    Bake at 325º for 40 mintues. Take it out, finish slicing each piece. Turn each slice on it's side and place back in oven for 12 minutes until toasty.
