    Jean's (not me) Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

    Stir together in ungreased 9x9x2 square pan:
    1 cup flour
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 Tbs. cocoa
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt

    Mix in with fork until smooth:
    1/2 cup milk
    2 Tbs. oil
    1 tsp. vanilla

    Stir in:
    1 cup nuts or 1/2 cup coconut

    Sprinkle over batter:
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1/4 cup cocoa

    Pour over batter:
    1 3/4 cup hottest tap water

    Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Let stand 15 minutes.
    Serve ice cream on squares of cake and spoon the sauce over,
    or serve cold just plain--if any survives to become "leftovers".
