Congo Bars
List of Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
2 cups packed dark brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons grated orange zest
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups All-Purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe
Preheat oven to 350º.
Line a 15x10 jelly roll pan with foil.
In a large bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, orange zest and salt until fluffy. Add flour and baking powder until blended. Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan.
Cut into bars when completely cooled.
Makes about 50 2" bars.
