2 cups buttermilk baking mix
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine baking mix, milk, cheddar cheese with a wooden spoon until soft dough forms. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Drop dough by heaping tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Combine butter, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder; brush over warm biscuits before removing from cookie sheet. Serve warm.
Recipe #2
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Italian Seasoning
44 oz Water, cold
1/2 C Butter
1 tbsp Parsley Flakes
5 lb Baking Mix
1 lb Cheddar, Sharp; grated
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix baking mix, water and cheese. Drop by large spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. After baking, (while hot) brush on melted butter or margarine mixed with garlic powder, parsley flakes and italian seasoning. Amounts will vary by the size batch you make, but a little goes a long way. Serve hot.
NOTE: for a smaller batch use 2 C bisquick, 1/2 C Cold Water, and 3/4 C grated cheddar. This will make about 12 biscuits. You can also substitute soda water or gingerale for the water.
