Buttermilk Muffins

List of Ingredients




2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 Tbs. sugar
1 stick butter or margarine, cold
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk








Recipe



Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Cut in butter or margarine till a coarse crumb mixture.. Mix egg and buttermilk. Stir buttermilk mixture into crumb mixture to mix and mositen. Place mixture 2/3 full into paper lined muffin cups. Bake 400 until light golden and done, about 20 minutes. Yield 8 standard muffins.Great with butter and jam.
