    Got doughnuts? Well, you could if you made these muffins.
    This recipe was in my Cook's Illustrated and stated as adapted from the book "Muffin Mania" by Cathy Prange and Joan Pauli

    List of Ingredients




    Muffin Ingredients:
    1 3/4 cup All-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/3 cup oil
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 cup milk

    Topping Ingredients:
    1/4 cup melted butter
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg

    Recipe



    In a bowl or sifter, combine flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon. In another bowl, thoroughly combine oil, sugar, egg and milk. Add liquid ingredients to dry and stir only to combine. Portion batter evenly among 12 buttered muffin cups. Bake 375º for about 20 minutes, or until top of muffins springs back when lightly pressed with finger. Meanwhile, for the topping, combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a small bowl. Remove muffins from tins and dip in melted butter, then in sugar cinnamon, nutmeg misture.
